How I transformed intricate consumer data into an intuitive, high-converting research platform.
Standard Insights is a sophisticated consumer research platform that enables brands to make data-backed decisions faster. I led the UX revamp of the entire ecosystem, focusing on simplifying the journey from raw survey data to actionable narratives. By integrating AI features and modernizing the visual language, I turned a data-heavy tool into a seamless, high-performance research partner.
Balancing Complexity with Effortless Usability
Surveys and consumer data are inherently dense and difficult to navigate. The platform faced three primary challenges:
Information Overload: The original interface felt overwhelming. Users struggled to decipher complex datasets, leading to high friction during the analysis phase.
Fragmented Research Path: The transition between building a survey, recruiting an audience, and analyzing reports felt disconnected and manual.
Developer Handoff Inefficiency: Without a cohesive system, the design-to-development process was slow, leading to visual inconsistencies in the final product.
A Data-First Experience Powered by a Unified System
I focused on creating a "Professional yet Simple" aesthetic that emphasizes clarity and speed without sacrificing the depth of the research.
Intuitive Data Visualization: I moved away from "standard charts" to carefully chosen, data-rich visualizations. Every chart was designed to be "scannable," allowing users to convert insights into narratives instantly.
Frictionless Survey Builder: I simplified the complex survey logic into a guided, step-by-step experience, including a real-time preview to build user confidence before launch.
Atomic Design System (Shadcn/React): I built a comprehensive product design system collaboratively with developers. By using standardized components, we ensured 100% visual consistency and accelerated the development handoff.
The Intelligence Command Center
I designed a high-level command center that prioritizes core brand metrics like Brand Health Tracking and Campaign Lift. To make these data-heavy functions approachable, I combined a clean, modular layout with custom illustrations that strike a balance between professional authority and a user-friendly aesthetic.

From Curiosity to Data-driven Confidence.
The Survey Builder is the engine of the platform. I redesigned this workflow into three logical stages to ensure even the most complex research feels simple to execute. Intelligent Question Design: A hybrid interface where users can manually craft questions or use an AI Research Assistant. Precision Audience Definition: A streamlined targeting engine that allows for surgical demographic selection. The Confidence Review: A final "Safety Net" stage featuring a live survey preview. This allows users to walk through the respondent’s journey and audit the logic, audience, and cost before the project goes live.




High-Fidelity Data Storytelling
Instead of generic charts, I crafted a library of visualizations specifically for research needs, such as Concept Testing and Usage & Attitude studies. Every chart is optimized for "scannability," ensuring that users can decipher complex datasets and convert them into actionable narratives without feeling overwhelmed.





AI-Driven Persona & Insights Discovery
I designed a dedicated space where AI transforms raw interviews into dynamic consumer personas. This feature includes an integrated AI chat interface, allowing users to "interrogate" their data for deeper qualitative analysis.




Measurable Growth through User-Centric Design
