RWID LMS: Empowering the Next Generation of Global Remote Workers

How I designed a dual-sided Learning Management System to streamline mentorship and accelerate career transitions.

Remote Worker Indonesia (RWID) is a platform dedicated to helping Indonesians unlock global digital careers. I was tasked with designing an end-to-end Learning Management System (LMS) tailored for both mentors and mentees. By prioritizing progress visualization and seamless material management, I created a digital environment where education directly translates into employment readiness.

Bridging the Gap Between Learning and Employment

Most LMS platforms focus only on content delivery. RWID needed a system that focused on outcomes. We faced three primary challenges:

Dual-Persona Complexity: Mentors and mentees have polar opposite needs. Mentors need high-level oversight and grading speed; mentees need granular progress tracking and motivation.
The "Drop-off" Risk: Remote learning can feel isolating. The design needed to keep mentees engaged and clear on their "Milestones" to prevent burnout.
Mastery Visualization: Showing what a student knows, rather than just what they watched, was critical for mentors to provide targeted feedback.

A Goal-Oriented Educational Ecosystem

I designed a "Transparency-First" architecture that ensures neither the mentor nor the mentee ever feels lost in the process.

Dual-Intelligence Dashboards: I designed personalized experiences for both users. Mentors get a "Success Command Center" showing hiring rates and task queues, while mentees get a "Progress Journey" focusing on milestones and branding development.
Iterative Course Architecture: I developed a "Create & Preview" flow for mentors, allowing them to instantly see the student’s perspective. I also integrated "Mentee Masterpieces" into the UI to serve as social proof and inspiration for other learners.
Holistic Mentee Monitoring: I built a 360-degree view of the learner’s journey, combining attendance, scores, and activity history with their personal branding profile to ensure they are "Job-Ready."

I designed a high-level oversight tool for mentors that prioritizes "Outcome Metrics"—such as the number of mentees who have successfully landed remote jobs. This allows mentors to manage schedules and pending tasks with surgical efficiency.

The learning schedule is presented in a clear, simple, and easy-to-digest format. A calendar view allows both mentors and mentees to filter and check sessions on specific dates, making it effortless to stay organized. Additionally, the schedule displays the number of participants already registered—giving everyone better visibility and planning for upcoming sessions.
